Blue Belt and Class Coverage

Tomorrow I begin my Blue Belt training. Blue Belt, the second level of Nia education, explores how to create healthy relationships through body-centered communication. It is a week-long intensive that starts tomorrow and ends September 23, 2011. This belt introduces the next set of 13 Nia principles, which focus on the mental, emotional and spiritual realms of the body. I particularly love what is written about the first of the blue belt principles:
"The Joy of Being in Relationship, integrates the sensation of Joy with the awareness that Joy is something outside the self, which we can invite into our physical experience. As a result, we begin to deepen our ability to listen with clarity and sustain awareness of details outside our body."

The 13 Blue Belt Principles I will learn are:
  1. The Joy of Being In Relationship
  2. The Power of Two
  3. Awareness, Insight, Clarity
  4. Developmental Anatomy
  5. The Power of Three
  6. Split, Ellipt, Blend
  7. Nia Class Format
  8. The Power of Silence & Sound
  9. Form and Freedom
  10. FloorPlay
  11. Music, Movement, Magic
  12. Observe, Listen, Guide
  13. Vertical Routines
I will be excited to integrate my new embodied learning into my classes and overall life.

While I am away, my classes continue!
